Demonstrating impact and gaining recognition as an SBM

Laura Williams, education business and operations consultant, LJ Business Consultancy Ltd

A wise SBM once described the role as follows: 'The best way to work out what an SBL does is to write down everything that happens in a school and cross out all the things that happen in the classroom...Voilà, you have the job description of your SBL/SBM.' Yet so much of this work goes unrecognised!

You know how much you do – all the areas of school life and success you’re involved in - and how you add value to your organisation – but do others realise and appreciate this? This session is all about demonstrating the ways in which you add value and how you can evidence your impact.

Take home points:
  • how you can effectively demonstrate the value that you add to your school and its leadership;
  • how to bolster your credibility and present your business cases in educational contexts;
  • how to read and understand all the elements of the school landscape – and how to use these to your advantage.
This session is for:
This session is for SBMs who want to play a pivotal role in the strategic management and development of their schools and are looking for ways to gain recognition as a business partner.
