At EdExec and EdExec LIVE, we are committed to operating our business in a way that is sustainable, inclusive, and transparent. As a small, independent business supporting the public education sector, we recognise our responsibility to promote positive environmental and social outcomes through our publishing, events, and day-to-day operations.

Environmental Responsibility

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact, particularly in how we deliver our events and publishing services. Our commitments include:

  • Publishing sustainability:
    • Offering digital magazine subscriptions as an alternative to print, giving readers more choice while reducing paper and distribution emissions.
    • Expanding our use of interactive digital formats (such as enhanced e-newsletters and digi-zines) to deliver high-quality, accessible content in a more sustainable, digestible format.
    • Encouraging advertisers and sponsors to embrace digital-first formats for magazines, newsletters, and brochures.
  • Event sustainability:
    • Choosing venues with strong sustainability credentials (e.g. waste management, local sourcing, energy efficiency)
    • Minimising printed materials at events; favouring digital agendas, signage, and delegate packs
    • Working with exhibitors to reduce plastic and single-use giveaways
  • Carbon-conscious operations:
    • Encouraging hybrid working and virtual collaboration to reduce commuting emissions
    • Minimising staff travel, prioritising train travel over air or car where feasible
    • Limiting business printing and moving toward digital-first publishing
  • Waste and resource management:
    • Using recyclable packaging and materials
    • Repurposing event materials where possible (e.g. lanyards, banners)

Social Responsibility

We aim to be an inclusive and ethical business that supports the wellbeing and development of our team, our audience, and the wider school business leadership community.

  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion:
    • Ensuring our speaker panels and editorial content reflect diverse voices from across the sector
    • Promoting accessibility in our event venues, digital content, and communications
  • Staff wellbeing and growth:
    • Offering flexible working arrangements and supportive team culture
    • Providing training and development opportunities tailored to individual goals
  • Community and sector support:
    • Supporting school business professionals through free resources, affordable events, and practical editorial
    • Building partnerships with regional SBM groups and ISBL to amplify professional development
    • Providing discounted event access options for schools unable to pay for tickets.

Governance and Transparency

As a long-standing, independently run business, we take governance seriously and strive for integrity in how we operate and make decisions.

  • Data privacy and compliance:
    • Complying fully with UK GDPR and PECR
    • Being transparent about how delegate and subscriber data is used and safeguarded
    • Seeking explicit consent where required and respecting opt-out requests promptly
  • Responsible business practices:
    • Maintaining clear policies on anti-bribery, modern slavery, and conflicts of interest
    • Ensuring advertising and sponsorship partnerships align with our values and deliver value to our audience
    • Being open to feedback and making improvements where gaps or issues are identified

Reviewing and Reporting

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as our business grows or as ESG best practice evolves. We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome feedback from partners, clients, team members, and delegates.
