NEWS: Ed Exec Live puts the spotlight on sustainability

SBLs looking to take their first step on the path to sustainability are poised to get expert insights on planning for a more environmentally friendly future at this year’s Ed Exec Live

Understanding how to initiate sustainable practices can be daunting, especially when concerns about budget constraints and operational implications weigh heavily on SBLs’ minds.

At the Ed Exec London event, Paul Edmond from the UKSSN and at the West Midlands event, Julie Rowlandson, Sustainability Officer at St Barts Academy Trust, will be leading seminars to empower SBLs in their sustainability efforts. Their in-depth seminar, titled “Sustainability Made Simpler,” will provide actionable guidance on initiating a climate action plan and fostering community involvement in environmental initiatives.

In a recent Education Executive article penned by the UKSSN (UK Schools Sustainability Network), the group stressed the crucial role of schools in safeguarding global climate stability and resources for future generations, all while ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of quality education to children. The article further elaborated on the primary—and arguably most pivotal—motivation behind commencing efforts to lessen the environmental footprint of school operations: to contribute to both UK and global net-zero objectives.

After the presentation, SBLs will have a chance to engage in discussions and seek insights on how they can pursue their own environmental goals. With sustainability taking center stage in global conversations, Ed Exec Live presents SBLs with a golden opportunity to actively participate in discussions about shaping the future and contribute to fostering a greener and more sustainable education environment.
