Working with schools to protect the environment

The EBB Office division has been providing office products to the educational and corporate sectors since 1978. Their approach to service is embedded in their core values – strong, long-lasting partnerships with their customers and suppliers and to take forward the fight against climate change

EBB sell an unrivalled range of office papers and stationery products, and are specialised suppliers to the education sector – we currently supply over 700 schools.  We are part of the Elliott Baxter Group of companies – the UK and Ireland’s leading independent paper and board supplier. Our aim is to combine service excellence with a people-friendly approach, setting the standard for best practice in our industry. Formed in 1922, the company is now into its fourth generation of Elliott ownership and management, and our centenary year sees us able to supply the whole of the UK from our eleven, state-of-the-art, distributions depots using our own fleet of vehicles.

Our policy is to stock paper in significant depth locally, offering maximum choice with an unrivalled delivery offer. Our express delivery service is supported by a fleet of 95 vehicles, which travel an average of 30,000 miles a year. The company makes close to 1,000 deliveries a day – many of which are delivered same-day – and we stock over 30,000 tonnes (50,000+ pallets) of paper.

Market-leading brands

We stock a wide range of market-leading paper brands including Navigator, Eclipse, Discovery, Artwork, Green Laser, Adagio tinted and Norcopy. We stock and supply both Blake Envelopes and Bond Labels and many other office and print room essentials such as a wide range of print room consumables – laminating pouches, laminating film, envelopes, etc.

Our highly knowledgeable EBB Office sales teams, based at our Thurrock and Newcastle sites, are expert in office and copier papers and able to advise on suitable stock for your specific needs and machines.

EBB and the environment

We recognise that in pursuing our business objectives we have a responsibility to protect and nurture the environment. The timber used in the manufacture of the pulp which creates the paper and board we stock comes from sustainable and well-managed forests. The timber is treated as a crop, with replanting programmes exceeding the quantity of felled trees.

To further our commitment to the fight against climate change we have teamed up with Carbon Footprint Ltd to develop a simple and economical way to offset the carbon generated in the production of our paper and board products via an avoided deforestation project in the Amazon Rainforest. If you would also like to carbon offset the paper you buy from us you can do this on an order-by-order basis, or sign up to our ongoing scheme where products you buy from us will be offset. The costs related to doing this are invoiced on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis, whichever you prefer.

In addition, for every tonne of CO2 that we offset, Carbon Footprint Ltd will plant one tree in the UK as part of their Tree Buddying scheme. This is often done during a tree planting day in school locations and other biodiversity sites. By ensuring the trees planted are native, broad leaf, species we are helping to preserve the UK’s environment and biodiversity. All trees are high quality, cell-grown ‘whips’ (year old saplings).

We are able to offer tree planting days to our customers, so please enquire for further details.
