Are you aware of the DfE funding available for clerk training and the new programmes that launched in February 2018 that attract this funding?
The Professional Clerking Programme is a new, nationally available development opportunity designed for those undertaking a clerking role. The whole programme is focused on the DfE Clerking Competency Framework, and so applicable for clerks in all educational settings.
The two face-to-face workshops with an experienced facilitator and eight modules focus on the development of clerking competencies. It develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to provide professional clerking to the governing boards of maintained schools, academies and multi-academy trusts.
The role of the clerk in any school is critical in ensuring joined-up leadership across the pillars of governance, business and pedagogy. This new͚ Professional Clerking Programme͛ being offered by the Institute of School Business Leadership has been designed, developed and delivered by experts, supported by practitioners in school governance, in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
