Elliott Baxter and Company Limited (also known as EBB) is the leading independent paper merchant in the UK
The organisation has been owned by the Elliott family since it was established over 100 years ago, and the company is now into its fourth generation of Elliott ownership and management, supplying paper and board products to the whole of the UK and Ireland.
EBB Office & Paper is a specialist division within the group, dedicated to supplying the education sector, from primary schools all the way through to higher and further education establishments across the whole of the UK.
We have our own fleet of around one hundred delivery vehicles, from small transit vans to large articulated lorries, that can deliver stock across the country from one of our ten state-of-the-art storage and distribution centres – our bright yellow lorries can’t be missed! We use our own DBS checked drivers for deliveries, the majority of which are conducted next day, free of charge.
EBB policy is to stock paper in significant depth locally to customers, offering maximum choice with unrivalled delivery speeds. Paper is stocked in-house at our own bespoke warehouses, and the weight of the paper stocked across all our facilities is over 21,000 tonnes – equivalent to around 15,000 cars full of paper!
Our range of copier papers include options for all budgets and orders can be for a single box right up to whole pallet-loads. We can offer storage/call-off facilities for those customers with limited on-site storage capacity, ensuring you get the most out of your paper budget.
Our paper ranges carry the highest environmental certifications, so you can be confident that the raw materials used to make the paper are from sustainable sources and well-managed forests. At EBB we take our responsibility to the environment very seriously, and are keen to tackle some of the myths around the manufacture and use of paper in today’s eco-aware society.
For example, the myth that ‘Paper Is Bad for The Environment’ – paper is based on wood, a natural and renewable material. Paper is one of the most recycled products in the world and epitomises the circular economy model of make, use, recycle and reuse.
EBB works directly with manufacturing mills, therefore, unlike many paper suppliers within the education sector, our supply is direct from the manufacturing source. We import paper from a number of sustainable mills across the globe, but our core suppliers are located in Europe. Thus, by purchasing from EBB, you are buying direct and cutting out the middleman!
The EBB Office & Paper division understand many schools have a variety of printer brands and types; therefore, we stock a wide range of branded products that are suitable to work on all sorts of printing machines. These include copier paper, white and tinted paper and card, coated and uncoated ranges, labels, envelopes and much more. For that reason, we are able to say that we cater for all printers and all schools.
EBB is currently the lead supplier on the NWUPC/CPC Education Framework Agreement, offering paper solutions to the education sector. We are also able to advise on sustainability and environmental certifications within the paper industry and what they mean. We work with various organisations, such as EdExec, to gain further exposure to the education sector where we can use our knowledge to promote best practice for paper products according to our clients’ requirements, advising on how to get the best out of the paper you buy.
Catch us at EdExec LIVE 2023 on 7th June, where we will have samples of our products and where our team of ‘paper experts’ will be on hand to give advice on all your paper and stationery requirements as well as giving away plenty of freebies! We will also be happy to discuss any offers and promotions we are running at the time.
In addition to our stand at the exhibition, the EBB team will also be holding their first ever seminar discussing the role of paper within the education sector. The seminar, entitled “Think You Know Paper?”, will cover the following topics:
- Recycled v Non-Recycled Paper
- Does the Weight of the Paper Matter?
- How Can You Buy Sustainably?
- Bulk Buying
We will also be looking at other important issues that concern buying and using paper within the education sector, so come along to the seminar hosted by Steve Tinniswood, the Divisional Manager for EBB Office & Paper, who will be able to answer your questions on all of these subjects and much more.
We look forward to welcoming you to our stand on 7th June, and discussing your paper and stationery requirements with you.
