EdExec strengthens its editorial team with a familiar face!

As part of a planned re-organisation, we are excited to announce a long-time friend of Education Executive, and of the SBL community, is joining our team!

Laura Williams will be taking up the position of Executive Editor across the EdExec platforms encompassing the magazine, website, e-newsletters and the ever-popular annual events, and will play an integral part in an exciting new addition to the EdExec family that we are planning to launch in March 2024!

As part of our aspiration to continually improve how we support and inspire the SBL community we need to always ensure that our editorial strategy and objectives are as real and as relevant to the SBL community as they can be, and Laura’s extensive experience in, and work with SBLs and SBPs across the entire school landscape, makes her perfectly placed to lead our content team as Executive Editor.

Vicki Baloch, CEO of Intelligent Media, EdExec’s parent company said  “Laura’s appointment to the team felt like a natural progression from our long standing relationship over many years, and our obvious choice given her work and experience with SBL’s and her constant and positive narrative within the SBL community.  As a trainer and a coach she shares our aspiration to not only support and inform those in charge of business and financial management in schools, but to champion their success and progression both as individuals and with school wide development and improvement.

Following her appointment Laura shared “my relationship with EdExec goes back 7 years. EdExec was the first magazine I wrote for and EdExec LIVE was the first professional conference I ever spoke at and I’ve continued to work with them, write for them and speak at their conferences on a regular basis! The work that they do to support and amplify the voice of SBLs and the fact that they’re not afraid to think differently or try new things is why joining the team as Executive Editor is a complete no-brainer for me. I look forward to working with a great team and delivering exciting new content and projects to both help SBLs and of course shout even louder about their SBL superpowers!”

And there’s more good news to follow, in addition to the appointment of Laura, we have also been working hard to appoint members to our new advisory editorial panel, this will be a small group of hand-picked sector professionals who will work with Laura to help shape and drive the agenda for EdExec, using their own network of SBLs and their direct experience with schools to ensure the EdExec suite platforms represent and reflect the truly diverse, varied and challenging environment that SBLs operate in, and most importantly offer the right support, information and aspiration  to that community.  Details of the panel to be announced shortly – watch this space for more of Laura and the team!
