As reported by The Independent, schools will function within their current budgets despite the rising cost of energy

Rumours of a possible three-day school week has been envisaged in order to deal with the incoming cost-of-living crisis.

“We expect schools to be open five days a week,” refuted minister of state for school standards, Will Quince.

Despite acknowledging the inability of some schools to cope with the rising costs, the minister vouched for the current statistics provided by the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), which indicated the capacity of schools to manage within the limits of their current budget.

A spokesperson from the Department for Education stood by Quince’s view and added that funding practices currently in place will account for the crisis.

Quince offered some reassurance by stating that whether Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak prevailed in the next election, one of their priorities would be to provide aid to battle the crisis.
