From the mag: It’s time to talk positively about pupil behaviour

Issues such as bullying, conflicts between pupils and low-level disruption in the classroom can have a negative impact on a child’s enjoyment of school and the progress they make in their learning.

But how do we combat negative behaviours in the school setting? In the September issue of Education Executive, Paul Featherstone, former primary school teacher suggests a change in focus could be the answer. Paul talks about how celebrating and encouraging positive behaviour can be far more effective than managing negative behaviour when it comes to putting effective strategies in place.
