In a ground-breaking achievement, Waterhead Academy proudly announces the successful completion of the nationally recognized Level 1 course by its inaugural cohort of 14-16 year-old St John Ambulance NHS Cadets, equipping them with vital emergency first aid skills and fostering qualities of compassionate leadership, effective communication, and teamwork while opening doors to healthcare careers
The programme aims to build confidence and broaden horizons, informing young people how they can volunteer and access careers within the healthcare profession.
The Academy has become of one of the first school’s nationally to deliver the programme and establish its very own Academy based NHS Cadet Unit.

The NHS Cadet programme is a fantastic initiative that has further contributed to the wide range of enrichment and Careers initiatives that are available to students to participate in at our Academy.
To become one of the first school’s in the country to deliver the NHS Cadet programme and to establish an official NHS Cadet Unit is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates the fantastic range of opportunities that are available to our students.
