Why are England's schools at breaking point?

Who’s telling the truth about school funding?

Back in February The Guardian published a video investigation about the government’s insistence that school spending is at record levels – a message which has been repeated over and over during 2019.
While this is technically true, the powers that be have neglected to mention that, alongside additional funding, pupil numbers are higher and per-pupil spending is down – not to mention the issue of inflation. This has led to unprecedented numbers of headteachers and other senior school staff speaking out publicly about what they perceive to be a crisis.
This video remains relevant today, and breaks down some of the reasons why schools across England find themselves at breaking point. Watch the video here.
